Abdifatah Abdi is currently serving at abbott northwestern hospital as a chaplain resident in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As the only muslim chaplain in the hospital - a lot of his work focuses on the spiritual care of the muslim and somali communities that come into the hospital. His current project at Abbott is to bridge the gap between the palliative care medical staff and the somali community. Helping educate individuals to eradicate racism in the system and help give accurate information of care to patients.

Briona Jenkins is a Black, queer woman changing the world while living in Austin, Texas by empowering people to own their stories through vulnerability. She also records The Tea with Bri, a podcast that focuses on having uncomfortable conversations.

Jennifer Toon holds many titles but the majority of her work focuses on the inequalities of the judicial system. Most recently she worked with the family of Melissa Lucio to advocate for her to be taken off of death row.

Nissi Frutos is the Young Adult Community Builder at First United Methodist Church of Georgetown. She has spent her time bridging the gap between the methodist church and the latino and black communities in Georgetown. She also works with underserved youth during the summer through Project Transformation - which is a program that invests in the lives of underserved children while living in community, exploring their calling, and developing them as servant leaders.

Rev. Santi Rodriguez is the Director of Community Engagement and Advocacy at St. David's in downtown Austin. In that position, he practices 1. Loving your neighbor 2. Witness to the reality of what the reign of God is really about 3. Finding ways to talk across party lines by building bridges. He mainly does this by getting involved with what is happening at city hall and at the Texas capital. Rev. Santi also takes the time and care to walk around the capital and pray once a week; stopping by the offices of our elected officials to build relationships with them.

Carolina Treviño is an Associate Pastor at Xentral Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas. Much of her work is building relationships with our unhoused friends here in Austin. Central Presbyterian opens their doors twice a week to help feed our friends with food and with the Word of God.
These photos tell a story of a group of volunteers that Carolina pastors to in addition to the guests that come to Central Presbyterian Church. It takes all of these amazing people to help feed the bodies and souls of our unhoused friends.

Glenna Balch's faith tradition is rooted in Quakerism. It is that faith that led her to start visiting inmates and offering spiritual care as a chaplain volunteer. That work then led her to establish relationships with two different death row inmates here in Texas. She has been their spiritual advisor for over 20 years now.
